Boredom buster – Noelle completed a 9×9 rubik cube all by herself in 24 hours! She is really an amazing girl! Not that she is smart, but she is amazing for her perseverance, determination, focus and patience to complete something that she targeted to achieve. (Both hubby and I gave up decoding the code for this rubik cube when she asked us to watch the video with her.🙄) In fact, she told me that this achievement is sweeter than the behaviour stickers reward, which proves that kids don’t need reward to be happy. It is internal happiness and satisfaction. She reminded me yesterday that she will be 8 years old in exactly one month time. 🙄 She didn’t forget it is Nikki’s birthday too!🤣
This is Noelle’s fourth time completing the 9×9 rubik cube – and in less than 10 minutes.
She is very proud of herself and so am I! 😂
as I told her, practice makes perfect and it gets better after each time!
Title: What’s your achievement during this Oct-Dec 2020 CMCO?
By Noelle Chou
2020 may be a ‘leap year’ for many school goers (as read in the news and social media), I think it has done far more good to Noelle. Her learning never stopped. Schoolwork is just a supplement. She learns a lot of life skills and arts. She reads a lot more too this year. She also coaches her sisters, which brushes her ‘leadership’ skill. She is very discipline in following a daily ‘timetable’. She may have less social encounters (socialising); but we replaced it with readings/stories. Compared to earlier in the year, I do think she is better in managing her own emotions now too.
New Rubik’s cube
Right after I posted about Noelle’s first success in completing her Rubik’s Cube on Sunday, Pauline Teh immediately pm-ed me and told me she will be getting Noelle a new cubic. 🤷🏻♀️🙄😂 I didn’t know how to react🤭 but really grateful for the kind thought.
The cubic arrived today and I told Noelle that it is from “Aunty Pauline”.
Noelle: Who’s that?
Me: 🙄🙄🙄 errr…dunno
Noelle: 😱😱 someone you dunno send??
Me: 🤭🤭🤭 no, I mean you dunno and we never meet before!
Me: But we know each other ok? 🤣🤣🤣
Ok, I know it is confusing to Noelle as I really don’t know how to explain. 🤭🤣 But, hey ya, Pauline and I know each other since Noelle was 2 years old!
Once again, thank you very much.
Noelle completed her new cubic for the first time in 5 minutes today! 😂
Anyway, I told her to be humble with her achievement (which coincided with one of the stories we read about ‘being humble’ two days ago).
