Our second visit to Kidzania KL

Our second time in Kidzania and also in 2019

We learn that….

>>> we should NEVER go on public holidays cum school holidays 🤭😆

We were better….

>>> in ‘strategising’ on what to do ‘first’ and hence we covered quite a lot of stuff

We (hubby and I) were definitely…..

>>> less tired compared to the first time we came (even Nikki was able to get through dinner without falling asleep….and we went to the bookstore after dinner)!

And

We told them….

>>> this will be THE last time we come to Kidzania in 2019 🙄🙄

….ok, unless someone ‘sponsor’ us again! 🤭🤣

(for my own memory, thanks again to Joylynn Teh for the tickets – she is a total stranger to me and I have never spoken to her before prior to this)

>>>>

Just last weekend I told hubby that if we were to make a trip to Kidzania again, we would probably have to spend close to RM300! And that will mean…..the kids won’t be able to go Kidzania any sooner unless we get special rates like those in Matta Fair.

Coincidentally, I bumped into a post on Beli Nothing Project (BNP) where a lady is offering FREE tickets for 2 adults and 2 toddlers (under 4 yo) which will be expiring this weekend! 🤭 We still have to buy a kid ticket for Noelle but the FREE tickets will save us RM192!

Story cut short – I quickly made a request and super thrilled that we were offered the tickets. Coincidentally, the lady’s office is just down the road of my hubby’s office. 🤭 That made collection easy too.

While there’s no ‘rule’ in BNP that we have to give anything in return, I asked Noelle if it was ok that she make ‘Aunty’ a card (since the two toddlers buta huruf) and ‘maybe’ a bracelet! 🙄 For Kidzania, of course Noelle is willing!🤣 Hubby handed over the card and bracelet when collecting the tickets – and I guess that made her day too! 😊

And this is our BEST present from BNP – not because of its ‘price’ but the experience that the kids will enjoy and remember!

>>>>>

I get different answers on what Noelle and Nikki most enjoyed doing this round! 😁😁😁😁

….

Summary of what the kids did from 10am to 7pm in Kidzania this time round

1. Dentistry

Dentistry at #Kidzania

Something new in Kidzania. Besides learning oral care and experience on scaling, they also get free toothpaste and tooth brush (besides their wages in Kidzos).

2. Nurse at Nursery (hospital)

3. Bottling at Spritzers factory

Bottling at Spritzers factory 🏭 #Kidzania

Noelle wanted to do this last round but missed the last session. So, there they go…

They need to pay Kidzos to do this and they get their own water bottles after done.

4. Builders at construction site

5. Designing arts and craft

6. Shoppers at KZ Mart

7. Burger makers at McDonald’s

Burger makers at Burger 🍔 shop aka McDonald’s at #Kidzania

We missed the first slot and managed to get the second (in fact they can do the last slot, but Noelle said enough and wanted to do other jobs).

They paid 15 Kidzos for the job that comes with the burger. With this, they had the burgers for lunch and saved up our real ringgit for lunch.

After making the burger, Noelle told me ‘actually it is easy to make burger!’ 🙄🙄 Then I told her ‘it is EASY because you don’t have to cut the veggies, cook the patty, prepare the sauce and cut the buns!’ And she went 😮😮😮😮

8. Making and bottling milk cultured at Marigold vitagen factory

Making and bottling milk cultured at Marigold Vitagen factory #kidzania

Actually they have no idea what is vitagen 🤭 because they are not exposed to it. I told them is something like yogurt drink. We paid some Kidzos for this activity and they get a vitagen each – I allowed them to try it immediately; Nikki drank half way and said ‘don’t want’! 🙄🤣

I asked Noelle what is it made of and she told me ‘milk powder and don’t know what vitamin’ 🤔🙄😂 really?

9. Deliverymen at KZ express

10. Receptionist at Hotel Sentral

11. Collecting recyclable items at Kidzania Recycling centre

Collecting recyclable items at #Kidzania KL Recycling Centre

And also Norrah’s first and only time earning Kidzos! 😆

This is similar to courier service, which the two girls have no problem handling!

12. Firefighters

Firefighters 🔥 at #kidzania

This is the super hot activity at Kidzania! From the point of queuing to actually performing the activity, it took close to 1.5 hours. We missed the earlier spots, only managed to get in queue at 3.20pm. So, we started to become ‘kiasu’ and asked them to queue early (but also good that they did sat there for a while – Nikki nearly fell asleep; maybe she did 🤭🤣).

Norrah can actually ‘play’ this but she didn’t want to sit in the queue -so we didn’t force her. And she slept when it was both Noelle and Nikki’s turn.

As of yesterday, Nikki says she enjoys being the firefighter most! But this morning when papa asked her – she says she enjoys ALLLLL that she did at Kidzania! 🙄🤣

13. Technician at Electric Company

Technician at Electric company #Kidzania

Looked for some odd jobs to do! 😆 Give it a try at the Electric company where they were briefed on electronic components and then brought out to fix a street light. Noelle was chosen to hold the tool bag while Nikki the flashing light. At the street, Noelle helped pull the cable. Another ‘technician’ was selected to climb up the ladder to replace the ‘bulb’ but he was having a hard time finding the ‘door’ to the bulb🤣. Noelle did a great job by ‘shouting’ to give instruction on where the ‘door’ was located. That took more time than expected and we thought we could have missed the second last slot for the dancing performance. 😓

>>> who says girls can’t be technicians? 😂

14. Dancers at Clock Tower

15. Customer and worker at Kurlz Beauty Salon

16. Free play at ABZ Elementary School (Norrah)

17. Pump attendants at BHP Petrol station

18. AirAsia flight stimulator

AirAsia Flight Simulator at #Kidzania

Before we went to Kidzania, Noelle told me that she won’t be trying the aeroplane thingy! But then there were still slots at 510pm (the last one). I asked if she wants to try and she agreed. So they went; couldn’t see much from outside.

And guess what? Yesterday after we went off, she told me that being the pilot was the best! 😂🤣

I told her I have never seen how the airplane’s navigation look like. And so this morning she drew for me how it actually looks like in there. One of her wonderful experiences in Kidzania this time – she says she ‘pulled’ the steering thingy (which she had a chance to do, but not mei mei).

With this, the girls have completed all the HITS that require them to queue for slots. They did the policeman the previous round!

19. Cashiers at KZ Mart

Shoppers and workers (aka cashier) at KZ mart #kidzania

All three of them favourite activity. Noelle and Nikki already told me that they will do this again. This is also Norrah’s first activity (shopper) and she repeated doing this! 🤣 I had to assist her. The other two sisters alternate being shoppers and cashiers – at separate timing.

20. Opening account and banking in Kidzos at Central Bank of Kidzania

They have covered double of what they did previous round (Hari Raya school holiday 🤭🙄). And there are still some they haven’t tried or maybe not eligible.

This time round when we left, not much ‘sobering’ – they (actually is Noelle) know that it is time to go and probably satisfied with the many things they did!

Ok bye Kidzania for 2019! 😆

Short clips for the visit <here>

Our first time in Kidzania <old post>

P1 friendship

Noelle: Mum, C says this is for YOU!

Me: 😮😮😮Me? 🤭🤭🤭

Noelle: Yes

Me: She drew at home or in school?

Noelle: in school. She says that is me and you.

Me: 😮😮 ooo…then let her know I say ‘thank you’ k?

Noelle: 😊😊ok

Then we talked about the details in the drawing like the hills, sun, fence and flowers) and how Noelle can actually learn from C. But at the same time, (not to let Noelle down) I praised that Noelle’s human figurine looks better (in particular the eyes).

Picture <here>

😂😂😂 first time receiving a drawing which is drawn by someone other than my own daughter

– –

Noelle and C have developed a ‘good’ friendship to the extent Noelle telling us ‘C wants to come for sleepover!’ 🙄🙄 Not one time she mentioned, but twice and different time interval (after all the off days they didn’t meet one another). We didn’t brush her off – didn’t reject nor accept – but asked her to think/plan – where is her friend going to sleep? Whether her friends’ parents aware? What if C cries at night – what do we do? The key is ‘to think/plan’ (because I know it is UNLIKELY to happen 🤭😆). I even asked why not she go over C’s house for sleepover instead – she herself says she doesn’t want! 🙄🙄 Sleepover isn’t possible for now, but I don’t mind if her friend come over to play (but I didn’t tell her the option – let her figure out herself) 🤣

7th lucky draw win: Unicorn cake by Unicorn25

Thanks Unicorn25 for putting cheer on my girls’ faces!

>> They are crazy over unicorns 🦄!

From the point I told them that I won a unicorn cake (during our vacation) to coming to this cafe, they were so excited! We chose the strawberry flavour cake as per my winning comment because my girls love pink! From the cake to the cream, the sweetness is perfect to our liking.

This brings me to my 7th lucky draw win (my 6th win is HeroMarket points, which I am still waiting for my credited points)! And I am even happier that few of my friends that joined after me got the unicorn cake too!

>> We love the ambience here and had our brunch here today! 😁😁

Our 6d5n vacation in Phuket island

Time flies in 6d5n – actually the ‘longest’ family home away WE had so far

– nothing to shout about; I know many that go for holiday for weeks but for us, it is a luxury already 😁😁

Here are some of the things we did in Phuket island

– sunshine, sand, wave play and picking crabs

– room games: uno, checkers and bingo

– read book

– watch tv

– shopping mall: lego

Instead of staying in the hotel room and glued to the tv, we went to build lego at the toy department (Central Mall Patong)! 🤭😆

– islands hopping

~Nikki’s and Norrah’s first island hopping; Noelle’s second (her first was 2+yo)

Destination: Khai islands 🌴

~Dipping into the deep sea water 😁😁

Me: We are going to stop here and take a dip!

Noelle: 😨😨 what that means?

Me: We are going into the sea water straight from the boat. There’s no beach/sand.

Noelle: 😱😱😱😨😨😨

Me: So, you want to do it? 🙄🙄

Noelle:🙄 No🤭

Me: 🙄🙄🙄🙄 We took so long a journey here by car and then boat. You don’t want to try? 🙄🙄🙄

Noelle: 🙄🙄🙄 🤷🏻‍♀️

Me: 😒😒Never mind la, I go myself. You all stay with papa on the boat! 🙄🙄🙄

Noelle: 🙄🙄🙄🙄ok la, I wanna try!

And there she went with me into the deep sea with the safety jacket. The first round was a short one – because Nikki followed and wanted to get out right after. After getting on the boat, Noelle asked for a second try, after which she declared ‘this is the MOST FUN ever!’

😆😆😆😆

– dolphin show

– eat and sleep

– massage

– swimming in the hotel swimming pool

– exploring the little Patong town

We stayed at Viridian Resort this time. It is smacked between the Jungceylon mall and also the Patong beach. Both are of walking distance to us.

》Our Phuket trip this year is also meant to celebrate Norrah’s second birthday! Hope she really had fun.

Our little traveller’s second time on a plane and doing a great job; this round she has a seat by herself on the plane 😆

>> Even if she doesn’t remember this trip, her sisters will remember it very well, I bet! 😁😁

》The bigger toddler – Nikki actually behaves better than expected 🤭🤣 for our Phuket trip; maybe because we predicted how she will behave.

While stickers may not have initially entice her to behave well, eventually after seeing Noelle getting more stickers (and have it arranged nicely) Nikki was motivated to do so. She did walk more than our expectation (we actually did not bring our stroller around Patong but left it in our hotel room). She’s a chatter box who talk non stop when she is in her good mood. Sometimes she wants her papa while sometimes she wants me – but in the five nights, she slept with papa because it was the easiest way for her to get stickers without having to fight with Noelle! 🤣

Nikki actually wants to be ‘better than’ Noelle in some sense (being competitive) – she can’t see her own flaws but like to pick on Noelle’s mini flaws; provoking/ poking Noelle and hence Noelle gets pretty annoyed with Nikki too. One of the things that Nikki may have regretted for mimicking Noelle was jumping into the sea with life jacket from the speed boat! That instantly shocked Nikki and she asked to go back up the boat immediately! 😂 She has the least patience with the dolphin show.

Nikki and Norrah – When Norrah wanted something which Nikki has, Nikki will not give in until Norrah gave up on what she wanted. It happened usually during meal times (fighting for the fruit juice) and it did make meal times unsatisfactory because of their nuisance.

I constantly remind myself to stay cool/calm with Nikki and let hubby ‘manage’ her if she throws a tantrum! Her annoying thing is she wants to be ‘different’ – for example when we uniformly wanted to go to the sea, she wants to play with sand! 🙄Sometimes we just have to give up doing things together as a family because of Nikki! 😒

Overall, Nikki enjoys this holiday (according to her – I asked her at the point of writing this) and hopefully the memory will stay with her.

》Noelle is at a pretty good age to travel with. She is great at posing for photos. She loves exploring and adventures. She is flexible and great at entertaining herself. She does whine, but just a little – mostly caused by Nikki. 🙄 But, she has been good in giving in to her little sisters.

At certain points, I know I failed at giving her the attention she deserved, I failed at keeping my temper when all she wanted was to ask me a question, I failed at holding her when she needed me most and I failed at laughing with her while she found something ticklish. (Sometimes I do think friends with single child does better mothering than me😢)

Overall, she is the one who appreciates this Phuket trip the most! It is an oversea trip that she has waited for more than a year. She says she enjoys the dolphin show the most!

At the end of the trip, we told her that we (actually papa) need to save money all over again so that we can go for an oversea holiday next year (if any🙄). She then asked ‘where are we going next year?’ Seems like she is helping papa set a (destination) goal before even starting to save up! 😆

#phuket

》There’s a lot been talk about how tough it is to be a mum! Often, we do neglect the role of a dad, especially one who is the sole breadwinner of the family.

Despite taking the total share of economic responsibility, hubby does take part in kids ‘ activities (though sometimes I doubt his whole presence 🤭🙄) and shares a small part of household responsibilities (though I need to kick his butt for some😒🙄). In addition, he has always been my punching box whenever I am stressed with the kids (or for whatever reason). 😂

Setting aside the daily ‘challenges’ (I.e tantrums and misbehaviours from the kids), I do think that I am living in a ‘comfortable’ zone. While I might ‘complain’ about how I feel stuck with the kids 24/7, hubby has not resented the fact that he has to make ends meet with just one income. I know he has sacrificed a lot of his ‘wants’ in order to make a better life for the family. And one of his goals is to bring us on a overseas trip (besides a domestic trip) on an annual basis. I am glad that he has us in mind – not a trip for himself but for me and the kids.

To hubby,

I wanted to take this moment to thank you for everything you’ve done on my behalf and on behalf of our children. Don’t think I don’t notice the sacrifices you’ve made and continue to make. Our culture may not care, but I do.

💖

》Final post for #phuket holiday

This time I didn’t prepare much food for the trip. I just brought along the food jars and the usual utensils, just in case. The food jars were filled with fried rice for the first night before we explore the place. Other than that, I didn’t use the food jars at all.

I was prepared that they will taste Thai street food (ok la, for the first time – as long as not fast food). I knew that there is a supermarket that has A to Z if I really need to prepare any food with the jars. (Moreover, we only brought two big luggage bags for the five of us – clothings for 6d5n, and it was already filled up)

Breakfast was provided by the hotel. For lunches, we had their local noodles soup in one of the shops that we went before in 2016 (we love the taste a lot) and food court in Jungceylon (which was air conditioned and seems like cleaner and better quality compared to Banzaan market) – the girls enjoyed the wantan noodles there. We bought a lot of fruits and buns from C supermarket for snacks. For dinner, we had it at OTOP market – let them try on braised pork rice, pork satay, grilled fish, Thailand pork burger, bbq pork ribs, pad Thai, fried chicken and fries.

Overall, Noelle tried and tasted most of the food we ordered. She doesn’t really like Thai food, I guess – because she told me her favourite food there was wantan noodle and fried chicken! 🙄 On the other hand, Nikki didn’t eat much – even breakfast. She ate more of the buns and fruits we bought. Norrah was almost same as Nikki. 🙄🙄 Three of them drank a lot of fresh fruit juices during our stay.
