I ditched Nikki and Norrah with hubby this morning to send Noelle to school alone! 😝 All students were supposed to line up at the assembly hall but I told Noelle to show me her class (wanna test her lor 🙄🤣). Then she went into her class queue. I told my hubby that I will come home once the school start. But since most parents were waiting at the assembly – I followed! 🤭 but luckily I did – because headmistress says primary 1 students will have their recess time 5 minutes earlier for the first three days! The headmistress applauded that ‘no one is crying’ today (actually deep down in my heart – I was crying 😢😂😝). I went back once Noelle followed her class teacher and classmates back to her room. Feeling down, once I opened the car radio – it sang ‘let it go’! 😂🤣 so, seems like I have to let it go.
After I arrived home, I nursed Norrah and showered Nikki (who didn’t want papa to shower her🙄). I prepared lunch and dinner (partially) before heading again to ‘reunite’ with Noelle during her recess time! 😂😝 This time Nikki followed (Norrah at home with papa). We waited for a while before bell rang (all parents were asked to move out of the canteen). Soon, Noelle came out with her classmates to the canteen – led by her class teacher. I watched from far – she made friend already with a girl (who she made friend with during orientation). They sat and ate together before I went to approach her. (If you think I very kwah cheong mama, you should go see the other parents there lor 🤭🤣). I took a photo of her and then left her eating, watching far with Nikki (I expected
Nikki wants to eat, so I brought some food for her too). After Noelle settled eating, I saw her went to wash her hands herself. It was then I only went to speak with her – she was telling me what she did in the morning that includes teacher bringing them around to understand the school surrounding (true enough, while we were waiting for her at the canteen, we saw her walking down the staircase with her friends – she was talking and smiling with her friends). I thought teacher will be sending them back to class but slowly seeing her classmate ‘missing’ from the canteen – then I asked her to walk back to her class just before the bell rang. She asked her ‘best’ friend to walk with her and so they went back to class. We bid goodbye. Nikki and I went home.
Upon arriving home, I put Norrah to nap before serving early lunch and preparing Noelle’s lunch box (that I will bring along when I pick her up). We ate lunch and settled before hubby dropped me off to pick Noelle (he only take half day off – year end closing🙄). I told Noelle that I will be waiting for her at the main gate.
As the school bell rang, students and parents coming out – and such a relief when Noelle from far calling ‘mami’ (the best feeling of the day – felt my to and from three times journey this morning – all worth it)! She told me about what she did after recess. She ate her lunch hungrily in the car, finished before papa dropped us off!
That’s day one for Noelle and me! Tomorrow hubby’s off to work like usual – he will send Noelle to school; and I will ‘stalk’ and pick her up from school (with Nikki and Norrah)!
I told hubby after the assembly
Me: You know, there are also standard 2 and 3 parents there today!
Me: So, (next year) you also take leave.
Hubby: huh? You want me to take leave Thursday (tomorrow)?
Me: Not tomorrow BUT 2.1.2020!
😂😂😂😂 plan in advance….
Things that Noelle told me today:
After she finished her recess box, I asked if she is full and does she need go buy massimo bun. She said yes and added ‘mami, today I manage to save money. Go home I can put into my hello kitty box (coin box)!’
😁😁😁impressed with what she told me
When I picked her up, I asked her what she did. She showed me some colouring which was kept at the side of her bag. Then she told me that they learn English and another teacher came in. Of course, I asked what’s the teacher’s name, which I expected she doesn’t know (yet) – she has bad memories with names just like me. But she said ‘My best friend says the English teacher is kinda pretty!’
😮😮😮🤣🤣 I wonder how pretty is their pretty! 😝
Then in the car, I asked where did her teacher showed her around in school. ‘Boy’s toilet!’
😧😧😧😧 the only place she remembered??!!🤭🤭
I asked if she went to toilet. She told me twice. First thing I asked if she brought tissues along! 🙄🙄 and she answered ‘no!’ 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
I asked further if she went alone or with a friend.
Noelle: One of the toilet door locked. And one girl came first but she let me go first.
Me: 😮😮 (thinking probably an older kid in the school) is a jeh jeh issit?
Noelle: I think from 1G!
🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ her classmate laaaa…her class is 1G, and in short, she went with a friend to toilet
>>I squeezed two pieces of tissues into her little purse and asked her to use it when she goes toilet from tomorrow onwards
During dinner, she asked me
Noelle: Mama, why I see some papa and mama around when school starts. (>> see I told you la, I not a very kwah cheong mama)
Me: 🤭🙄😮 ooo…I went back home because I know you are independent and can take care of yourself. You big girl already, right?
>> kembang la tu
But I am really proud that she has been independent so far! 😁😁😁
Me: Tomorrow papa will send you to school. You cannot ‘I wan Mama, ok?’
Noelle: 😮😮😮 then papa will send me at the gate or class?
Me: That one you ask papa la!
Then hubby came back and they were taking bath. So, I told hubby what she expect.
Hubby: 🤔🤔🤔 (thinking)
Me: But only can send her to class for two days only wor 🙄🙄🙄
Hubby: Talk until like that, I will send her into the class la!😒😒😒
Hubby: Take mai photo for you, ok onot? 😒😒
Me: Better still!
(It has been some time I see this excitement; actually her stories sort of slowed down when she entered term 2 of her last year’s kindy)
