Braised yam with chicken


Inspired by QuinnieTan’s Yam and chicken dish, I did my version.

Half chicken, marinated in 2 tbsp miso and 1 tbsp molasses sugar for an hour or more
2 bulbs garlic, skin peeled and ‘slapped’ (lol! Duno what word to use)
1 yam, cut into pieces
Dried shrimp

Stir fry garlic in heated oil until fragrant. Add in dried shrimp. Stir for 2 minutes. Add in Yam and marinated chicken. Pour water to cover. Let it braise for 30 minutes or until cook.

Vegetable: Stir fry sawi with baby corns and shimeji mushrooms.

Nothing special from the kitchen for lunch!

Made the mini fried sweet potato balls for our shopping trip, as we ran out of honeydew.

Lunch is egg mee hoon kueh in beetroot soup with bok choy and prawns.

Our brekkie:

1. Mine – tuna puff

2. Hers – papaya yogurt with cereals and butter bread
