Thanks to Mama Ann Thong for sharing this morning.
Just 3 Ingredients:
Spring roll skin
Lightly pan fried.
Yums! Taste like goreng pisang, but less oily.
It’s beetroot mee hoon kueh in radish and beetroot chicken soup topped with hard boiled egg
My girl used to dislike hard boiled egg. But since having meals with her playdate who enjoys eating hard boiled egg, she begins liking it! He he… Good influence, as it is easy to prepare hard boiled eggs!
Testimonial – beetroot is her favourite! grin emoticon
Dinner almost done: Stuffed meat into tofu, tau pok, okra, wantan skin
Just need to give them a boil in the ready boiled radish and beetroot chicken soup, and add some vegetables. Served with rice.
Chopped spring onions
Thanks to Vivien Tan for guidance on burger patty.
For the buns, I just used the Japanese soft buns recipe from Thermomix, but hand kneaded myself.
For the pork patties:
Just had tomatoes in the fridge and no cucumber/lettuce. So, that’s it!
1. Soy sauce chicken for hubby – chicken thighs marinated in dark soy sauce, sesame oil and pepper; onion, oil, water, oyster sauce
2. Plain pan fried fish for girl
3. Pan fried chilli belacan fish for myself
4. Stew tofu in vegetables soup (carrot, tomato and potato soup) – silken tofu, garlic, oil, Grinded oats, tomato, liquid amino, pepper
5. Stir fry bok choy with garlic
– Stir fry onions in oil until fragrant.
– Put in chickens and brown it. Add some liquid amino & pepper.
– Transfer into vegetables stock (Yam bean, tomatoes, fennel, potato).
– Add in enoki mushrooms and let it stew for 15 minutes.
– Add Grinded oats and let it stew for another 10 minutes or until chicken cooked
A message to DHM members I made:
I don’t want to sound snobbish or bossy here! But, can you please take the time to Google some key words before asking us what some things are? For example, ‘liquid amino’ – yes, it is simply too easy to comment and ask what it is, but it is more simple to open an explorer and type the key word on the search box. I am not saying about recipes, as I willingly share recipes when I am free to do so – as now DHM is my gateway to access my own Blog.
While I might be seen as so ‘free’ posting on DHM, this is my way of getting connected with the world as a stay at home mum. I have 101 things to care for – my priority is my daughter, hubby and home! I don’t have time to answer some questions – which I think can be found everywhere. I am/was also a ‘newbie’ in cooking – and work my way up – I learn from people’s sharing and information on the Internet. So, if I can do it, I don’t think anyone else cannot – as I am just like any average person.
PLUS, please don’t pm me how I ‘trained’ my girl to eat so well. I was just gifted with a none fussy girl, and I can’t help you in making your little one eat. I deal with many daily frustration too with her – though I don’t post her. And, things don’t just happen in one day, it takes a lot of perseverance. In addition, like any one I am a first time mum who knows nothing and no one guide me. So, similarly, if an average person like me can do, so do many of you.
Thanks and sorry for the rant.
I thought it could be completed with just the ‘jam’ function using the breadmaker, but ended up i used double boiler as I don’t see the breadmaker ‘cooking’ the kaya. Then it came out like big patch of jelly like texture, though tasted like kaya. So, I further blended it to become smoother.
3 small eggs
80g molasses sugar
5 pieces of pandan leaves
Transferred to double boiler, under steam mode for 30 minutes before blending it (I didn’t blend the pandan leaves with it).
I was making ‘bak cham kai’ (chicken rice punya chicken) for our main meals today. I took out some cooked chicken breast and minced it; added some other ingredients to make vegetables chicken nuggets.
No specific amount of ingredients:
Cooked chicken breast, minced
Chopped green zucchini
Chopped spring onoon
Mix everything and shape it. Then, coat them with crusted cream crackers. Pan fried with oil.
Meals today –
Lunch: Green pepper mee hoon kueh in papaya chicken soup with bak cham kai
Dinner: Rice cooker long beans and dried shrimp rice with bak cham kai
Ingredients for longevity noodles:
Longevity noodles, blanched in hot water
Rice bran oil
Lean pork marinated in liquid amino, sesame oil and pepper
Homemade vegetables stock soup (carrot, potato, tomato)
Chilli belacan: https://17chipmunks.wordpress.com/2015/07/01/homemade-chilli-belacan-my-mums-recipe/
All these under RM10 again, and hubby gets a portion for his lunch in office tomorrow!
1. Rice cooker long beans and chicken rice
– chicken breast (cubed and marinated in sesame oil, liquid amino and pepper), garlic, long beans, carrot, fried shallot, rice grains (soaked), water
2. Roasted drumsticks (expressed marinated by Aeon supermarket)
This is actually dinner for less than RM10, since we are undergoing tight budget and let’s do some counting-
– chicken breast under 50% promo; RM3
– rice grains, sauces, electric; RM1.50
– long beans, carrot, garlic, shallot; RM1
– 3 marinated drumsticks under 50% promo; RM3.50
Total: approximately RM9
It has been a month plus we spoke out going on BRT since it opened in June 2015. Finally we did it today and it is still offering free ride now. We walked from Sunway Pyramid to its Sunway Lagoon station through its pedestrian bridge.
We took a ride from this station to the two ends (Sunway – Setia Jaya and USJ 17) before returning to the same station without getting down.
It uses a coin system.
The little girl was actually excited when we told her we were going for a bus ride (following the wheels on the bus nursery rhyme). She stood and sat quietly throughout the journey – similar to our experiences on public transport while we were travelling abroad.
After we came down, she can’t stop saying goodbye to the bus – even as we walked back to Sunway Pyramid. It was a joyful ride, overall.
For our short outing today:
Cream cheese vegetables pasta and banana cupcakes
Cream cheese vegetables pasta – cream cheese, carrot, green zucchini and pasta
I just stir fry shredded zucchini and carrot in olive oil. Then add in cream cheese. Stir for a while before adding the boiled pasta plus a little water. Done.
Banana cupcakes – egg, molasses sugar, banana, unsalted butter, cake flour (180 degree celcius for 15 minutes)
1. Fragrant yogurt rice (recipe: https://17chipmunks.wordpress.com/2015/06/03/healthy-fragrant-rice-with-yogurt/)
2. Mini potato cutlet – mashed potato and carrot, cream cheese, spring onion; coated with egg
3. Mushroom omelette – shiitake mushroom, spring onion, egg (leftover from no. 2)
One dish for dinner: Steamed fish
-ingredients: silken tofu, shiitake mushrooms, tomato, ginger, spring onion, fried shallot
Will be served with noodles in leftover soup and spinach
My ‘finance minister’ will sure call out hungry very soon after dinner. Lol!
2 hard boiled eggs
1/5 of zucchini, steamed and chopped
1 tsp cream cheese
1/2 tsp olive grove
Side for girl – roasted potato with cream cheese (230 degree celcius for 15-20 minutes)
We will be heading to collect our breadmaker later. So, I planned a simple lunch – which we can have it in car (if late) or back home.
