My first home cooked curry fish

11012477_10205101233323306_1772246756336965797_nThis is an overdue post which I missed out last week. Only found out that I missed it when I wanted to refer to it again as I wanted to cook curry fish again.

Ingredients blended (you can decide not to blend):

Onion
Garlic
Lemon grass
Fresh turmeric
Tomatoes

Ginger
Other ingredients:

Halba seeds

Coriander seeds

Mustard seeds

Curry leaves

Carrot
Alagappa curry fish powder
Assam water
Long beans
Brinjal
Tau pok
Water

Steps:

  1. Stir fry halba seeds. Coriander seeds, mustard seeds and curry leaves in oil for 2 minutes.
  2. Add in blended ingredients and stir fry for another 2 minutes.
  3. Add in water, assam water and all the vegetables.
  4. Let it simmer for 15-20 minutes.
  5. Add in fish and let it boil for 10 minutes (off fire and let it rest, the longer you let it rest, the tastier it is).

I used red snapper which my mum gave me!

The original fish… He he.. I cut into 4 pieces
